Conical in form on a flat ring base, the thin rim horizontal, the omphalos edged with short lanceolate petals, the sloping walls with three animal and monster combat groups in repoussé, including a lion savaging a boar, a winged griffin attacking a goat, and a lion mauling a stag, a single panther looking on, on a groundline of dotted triangles, preserving extensive gilding

状况报告
Intact but for a tiny triangle missing from the rim; a small tear on the inner edge of the foot; some losses to the gilding; some tiny perforations on the edges of the groundline and on some of the figural motifs. The dating of this lot is consistent with mettalurgy test #R4668 done by Oxford University Begbroke Science Park.

高4厘米、口径14.7厘米

碗壁锤揲出12个凸凹起伏的瓣状，口沿以下渐收，成为略有弧状的斜壁，圈足。内底中心饰一花角立鹿。口沿下刻铭文一行。这种制作技法和造型风格在古代中亚、西亚乃至地中海沿岸十分流行，是西方传统器皿的特征。

鹿作为器物的装饰纹样，在中国和西方地区均有，但形象特征却有区别。波斯和粟特艺术中鹿是常见题材，为花角鹿，更多的是见于粟特遗物中。中国装饰纹样中鹿的形象均为平顶，呈灵芝状，有时被称为“肉芝顶”鹿。沙坡村鹿纹银碗中的鹿角左右展开，每面四个支角，整体呈火焰状，正是“花角鹿”的形象。据林梅村先生考证：这个银碗，特别是碗心的鹿纹图案，和马尔夏克刊布的OS136号粟特银碗基本相同，后者打制一粟特王族族徽符号，类似的符号亦见于粟特王发行的钱币。口沿下铭文属于粟特文，读作“祖尔万神之奴仆”。马尔夏克将这种银碗的流行年代定在公元7-8世纪。从器物特征及时代上看，产地还是最接近中亚粟特地区。

沙坡村窖藏共出土15件银器。通过对其中4件高足杯的形制分析，都是8世纪中叶前流行的纹样和器形。因此，沙坡村窖藏的年代下限不晚于8世纪中叶，鹿纹银碗的制作年代当在此之前。（ 撰文：赵永 )
