壽星黃楊木雕琢而成，立于如意雲頭之上，姿態瀟灑自如。壽星頭戴頭巾，凸額上深刻數條皺紋，面目清朗，長鬚垂胸，身穿長衫，左手執藤仗，右手捧壽桃一顆，似爲祝壽飄然而來。此壽星雕琢工藝精當，身體比例勻稱，姿態自然和諧，衣紋自然下垂，流暢自如。雲頭以雙綫雕刻，圓雕層次豐滿，立體感極强。木雕底部有墨書。_x000D_

取一截牙尖為材，依型奏刀，牙質細密。文官呈站姿，頭戴帽，開相和善，長須飄動，雙手置胸前，手執笏板，微側而立，似在欣賞眼前之物。神態柔和，眉眼帶笑，頗為專注。此像刀法簡潔，輪廓細膩，衣紋流暢；且包漿厚重，頗有神韻。

象牙質地，圓雕立姿，面形飽滿豐潤，額際高廣，長眉髯，自然下垂，神態雍容安詳，微含笑意。頭戴冠巾，身著廣袖袍，腰結綬帶，舉目遠視，悠然自得，一手結印，一手捧寶，形體生動，流露出恬淡寧靜與富貴的神態，以墨彩點染髮絲，衣褶，使人物更加寫實，形神兼備。此像以象牙為材質，細膩潤澤，採圓雕技法，刀法細膩，刻工精到，衣紋垂拂流轉，流暢自然，紋絡清晰，表情塑造細膩寫實，人物頗得傳神之妙，濃郁閒適愉悅之風，富有文人氣息。年代久遠而牙紋滿佈，包漿黝亮透熟，乃明代象牙雕之佳品。來源：英國私人舊藏

The figure, identifiable as the Daoist immortal Lan Caihe, is delicately carved wearing long flowing robes, and holding a basket of flowers in one hand with the other arm raised with hand in vitarka mudra. The face is depicted with a serene expression.

明代象牙雕刻在牙雕科目中也算是高古的，由于年代久远，许多作品的表面都出现了玻璃光的包浆。这种包浆实际上就是由于有机质的象牙长期在空气中的作用，产生了类似结晶化的倾向。

一般情况下，年代越久，这样的光泽就越强，似乎玻璃层也变得更厚。较明代更久远的象牙，它的玻璃质几乎有了一定厚度透明层的感觉，当然这是非常罕见的。

这件明代的象牙人物就是较好地表现了这种玻璃光质，因此显得更加的滋润可人，特别是在雕刻时，在衣袖等处留有部分牙皮，由于年代久远，使得视觉效果变化更加明显，增添了更多的韵味。
