说明：鸡心罐流行于金元时的北方地区，多收口无颈，腹下部渐丰，敛底圈足，形似鸡心得名。此件鸡心罐敛口垂腹，重心在下腹部，底部急收，下承圈足，整体造型敦厚古拙。通体施天青釉，口沿处釉层较薄而微显胎色，圈足露护胎釉。釉层肥润，匀净淡雅，素面无任何人为修饰，更显釉色沉静雅致，古色古香。

Wares from the typesite Juntai in Yu county, Henan province, an area formerly known as Junzhou, are remarkable for their luscious thick glaze of various intensities of colouration on simple yet elegant forms.

Although ‘Jun’ waterpots of lotus bud form are common and can be found in many collections, the present piece is unusual for its lobed shape. A closely related waterpot was included in the exhibition Form and Farbe. Chinesische Bronzen und Fruhkeramik. Sammlung H. W. Siegel, Berlin, 1973, cat. no. 100; another, with two horizontal incised lines on the shoulders, from the T. Y. Chao collection was sold in our Hong Kong rooms, 19th May 1987, lot 212; and a third example was sold at Christie’s New York, 6th November 1980, lot 280. Compare also a plain waterpot in the National Museum, Taipei, published in A Panorama of Ceramics in the National Palace Museum: Chun Ware, Taipei, 1999; pl. 97; and another, from the collection of Frederick Knight, sold in our Hong Kong rooms, 18th May 1982, lot 17. A waterpot with a pale blue glaze, similar to the present example, in the British Museum is published in Basil Grey, Early Chinese Pottery and Porcelain, London, 1952, pl. 82b; and a related bowl was sold in our New York rooms, 20th March 1976, lot 92.

the globular body rising from a short spreading foot and tapering towards a narrow mouth, covered overall in a thick purplish-blue glaze thinning to a buff tone at the rim, the knife-pared foot rim burnt to a light caramel color in the firing

Condition Report
There are two small areas of misfiring to the glaze just below the rim on the exterior a circa 1cm., glaze pull to the lower edge of the body and some shallow flakes to the inside edge of the footring.

We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
– The pot is slightly uneven.
– The mouth rim has been polished with some associated chips particularly to one side of the mouth rim.
-There is an approx. 4.5 x 2.5 cm. area of restoration to the lower body, with an area of associated over spray above.
-Some very fine cracks on the foot rim, two large chips and few small chips to the interior and exterior of the foot rim.
-There is some light polishing to the foot rim.
– A few firing cracks and surface chips to the base.

此器形似雞心，造形獨特，玲瓏精巧，應是仿效元明之際常見的鈞窯雞心罐所製。可參考一件比本器略高的鈞窯雞心罐，2012年11月28日於香港佳士得拍賣，拍品2277號。 據郭葆昌先生《唐俊公先生陶務紀年表》記載，雍正六年，唐英赴景德鎮御窯廠燒造瓷器。《清檔》記載，雍正七年：「四月二十七日，郎中海望奉旨：『爾等將各樣款式水盛，或腰圓形、半壁形、雞缸形或扁圓形，酌量做木樣幾件。不必呈覽，交年希堯或黃釉、或霽紅釉、或脫胎、或東青釉，務要精細，每樣燒造幾件。欽此。』」則此霽紅釉仿鈞窯雞心形水丞，當為雍正七年其時年希堯督窯而唐英監燒器物。 雍正霽紅釉雞心水丞罕有，目前僅見，1977年敏求精舍《明清一色釉瓷》展覽圖版15號。

狀況報告
There is a small potting indentation and a shallow chip to the bottom of the foot which is associated with a glaze adhesion. There are some minor potting flaws to the mouth rim. There are two small iron spots in the glaze on the exterior. The number 62.C50 is written in black and white ink on the base and interior foot. Jar is in overall good condition.
