The incense burner is supported in Buddhist lion-head terminals and is decorated with lotus heads on scrolling foliage, the pierced cover similarly decorated. The base with an apocryphal Qianlong mark.

QIANLONG FOUR-CHARACTER MARK INSCRIBED IN A LINE AND OF THE PERIOD (1736-1795)
The censer has a compressed bulbous body decorated with lotus scroll below a blue ruyi border which is repeated above each of the three cabriole supports that are decorated with foliate sprays. Sprays of florets are on the neck and pair of bail handles, and flower sprays surround a gilt square in the center of the underside which is inscribed with the four-character mark in a line above a fifth character, jing.

The censer is flanked by upswept handles and is raised on three cabriole legs surmounted by dragon heads that support the body which is decorated around the sides with the Eight Buddhist Emblems (bajixiang) surrounded by flower scroll below a ruyi border and above a flower head in the center of the underside. The cover has three large, pierced gilt-copper panels of ruyi shape chased with flower scroll below a large, similarly pierced knob.
