亚述地区此串蚀花肉红石髓珠配圆形金吊坠大钱纹金珠项链装饰繁复、镶嵌多枚红石髓及一颗尺寸较大的玛瑙眼珠，极为珍罕。眼珠的出现与人类在旧石器时代的许多宗教行为有关，亦是一种最原始的装饰纹样，通常带有驱邪、避难、防身等力量，其实在化学与蚀花肉红石髓珠相同，是一种经化学腐蚀花纹的玛瑙工艺品，最早可见于埃及、西亚及印度河河谷等地，在公元前一千年左右开始传入欧洲。以圆圈为形的眼纹本身可以绘于各种材质之上，而材质等级越高，眼珠所带有的附加价值也就越高，通常以玛瑙绘眼纹则极为珍罕，尺寸越大越难得。（图片1）此类眼珠即使是在公元前一千年的亚述地区亦是无上至宝，通常作为重要的奢侈品进行再装饰，此串项链即为此类。以眼珠为中心再设计的圆形大钱纹吊坠上以点状装饰，为典型苏美尔金匠常用的装饰方法，为亚述地区所沿用，后影响了整个地中海地区的装饰纹样。
