Scratch and worn gilding on the leading side, but otherwise excellent colour fine flat chasing, good marks.

This tazza is finely chased with figures in a Chinese landscape. This type of ornament was briefly popular in the 1680s and may have been the work of a single workshop in London that decorated wares obtained from other goldsmiths.

[2] Lion passant guardant (English quality mark for sterling);
[3] e in pointed shield (London date letter for 1682–83);
[4] TI, two escallop shells between, hinges together (maker’s mark for Thomas Jenkins).
